CalendarHospital Readiness– Learn the process of registration, when to come into the hospital, warning signs and symptoms of going into labor, what to bring to the hospital and take a tour of Onvida Health’s Labor and Delivery/ Mother Baby Unit.
Preparing for Labor– Learn the stages of labor, birth and postpartum care for deliveries, breathing and relaxation exercises, pain management and medical interventions including anesthesia and inductions.
Breastfeeding 101- Learn breastfeeding techniques, managing lactation and milk production, storing breastmilk and how breast pumps work.
Safety First– Learn about safe sleep, car seat safety, swaddling your baby, shaken baby syndrome, newborn care and welcoming a new baby into the family.
Note: Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes, for walking and exercises. If you have a breast pump and car seat please bring them.
If you are an expecting mother under the age of 18, or have limited financial resources, you may be eligible to receive services at Onvida Health for free or for a reduced out-of-pocket expense. Please call our Childbirth Educator for more information at 928-336-7058.
