Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) is happy to announce updated masking and visitation guidelines. Arizona’s COVID-19 health emergency ended this month and YRMC continues to see a decline in COVID-19 patient admissions.
Beginning today, visitors to the hospital are no longer required to wear a mask, unless they are visiting a patient with a respiratory or other communicable illness. With this change, we are also asking individuals to refrain from visiting the hospital if they are experiencing fever, cough, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, chills, runny or stuffy nose or flu-like symptoms or if they have had a recent positive COVID-19 test or know exposure.
To prevent the spread of illness at YRMC’s outpatient clinics, patients should wear a mask if experiencing symptoms of respiratory illnesses, such as COVID-19 or influenza. Masks for all other patients are optional at outpatient locations.
YRMC team members will continue to wear masks while in direct contact with patients.
The health and safety of our patients, staff and visitors remains a top priority. We will continue to monitor transmission rates and make adjustments as needed.
