As both healthcare and our community have evolved, so have we. YRMC is more than a regional hospital and it’s important that we reflect this change so we can continue to serve our neighbors.
It’s also more than just a change in our name and logo. We are truly focusing on evolving our patient experience to better represent who we are as an organization and what we can achieve together. We want to connect to our neighbors to better benefit the entire community.
Our new name and logo honors our roots while embracing our future, ensuring that our identity aligns closely with the values of those we serve.
No, this is not the result of an acquisition nor a merger. It reflects our commitment to the patient and employee experience, where every experience embodies our values.
Our new name reflects who we are today and the bright future ahead. Onvida Health – inspired by “Vida,” meaning “Life” in Spanish – speaks to optimism and celebrates life moments.
Our new name was carefully crafted to capture the essence and energy of what we do here, how we care for our community and celebrate life’s moments. This name also allows us to grow beyond Yuma as we move into San Luis and other areas. We want people to see themselves in our brand and know that we’re here for them. Lastly, we’ve selected a “coined” or “made up” name to help us legally, allowing us to protect the name and be easier to find among other health options.
The symbol you’ve seen is a “spark” and is used as the “O” in our Onvida Health wordmark. It signals an arrow moving us forward into a healthier tomorrow and brings out the sun in each of us. The orange color evokes our optimism and is also inspired by the warmth of our community.
Over 18 months ago we introduced a new organizational purpose of ‘Building a Healthier Tomorrow.’ We also adopted new behaviors to enhance the patient and employee experience. Together with our new values and pillars, our purpose has served as the beacon for our exciting future as we work collaboratively to advance healthcare in our region. You can expect more personalized care and support that reflects our commitment to the community.
We remain committed to our roots in Yuma County. We recognize our role as the leading provider of care here. As the communities we serve grow and evolve we want to be there. Our new name, Onvida Health, also supports our commitment to providing care beyond our main campus.
Not everything is changing—our organization was built on our strong history and legacy as a community health system. The care providers, people, and places you know are still here for you. We bring everything together to give you the latest, best care when you need it.
This change will begin on October 8th, 2024. To be cost effective and efficient, we will continue the process over the several months and years. We want to use our resources wisely and change them out as we run out or when they were going to be refreshed anyway. For example, our digital experiences will change faster as those updates are more cost effective and impactful whereas signage will take some time.
We are making the shift to Onvida Health gradually. This means the change won’t happen overnight and you’ll see both our new and old brand as we continue to make updates. Our goal is to be cost effective and help our community understand the shift, so we will make the change over the upcoming months and years. You will begin to see our new name on materials starting on October 8th, but we will not officially change our licensed names until March 2025.
Yes, the people you know, and love are still here. And we’re proud to be part of this community, creating a healthier future for all of us. With our staff of over 2,400 employees and over 400 medical practitioners and hundreds of volunteers, we’re all here for you.

Not at all! Our medical center will continue to thrive and serve Yuma. Our goal is to continue caring for this community as we have for over 50 years and will continue to honor that history by referring to it as a medical center. The new Onvida Health brand acts like an umbrella to represent our health system and all we do as we continue to grow and evolve to better serve our community.
Your insurance will remain the same! There is no impact to your healthcare coverage because of the brand change. We will continue to serve the community as we have, which includes working with the insurance providers of our region.

What’s Next
As we change our name to Onvida Health, you may still see some Yuma Regional-branded materials for a while on bills, signage and forms. Rest assured, whether you see YRMC or Onvida Health, you’re still in good hands. You’ll receive the same quality care you’ve come to expect.
