Onvida Health kicked off 2025 proudly celebrating more than 5,000 successful robotic-assisted surgeries using the state-of-the-art da Vinci Xi Surgical System®. This milestone reflects Onvida Health’s commitment to innovation and excellence in surgical care, with its robotics program leading the way in minimally invasive procedures across multiple departments, including general surgery, gynecology, urology and more.
The success of the program reflects the skill and dedication of Onvida Health’s surgical team, led by Dr. Simon Lavotshkin, one of the nation’s most experienced and accomplished robotic surgeons. Dr. Lavotshkin has played a pivotal role in expanding the use of robotic technology in Yuma, performing highly complex procedures with greater precision and smaller incisions, helping patients recover faster and with less discomfort.

Since its introduction in 2019, Onvida Health’s robotic surgery program has expanded to four da Vinci robots. The robotic system gives surgeons high-definition 3D vision that enables them to operate with greater accuracy and even more control. Utilizing the four robotic arms, surgeons have the ability to make incisions as small as 7 millimeters, resulting in less invasive surgery, improved cosmetic results and faster recovery times.
